Project leader: Frans Bosman

Responsible board member: Richard van Slobbe

From the experiences and relations in Rwanda a new project developped during 2015.

In this project the ‘demand side’ is leading.

The idea is that by inviting two Rwandan senior members of the pharmaceutical community (Mr. Richard Bugingo (head of Unipharma Pharmacy) and Dr. Pierre Claver Kayumba (Deputy Dean School of Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Rwanda) and offering them a firm excursion of 1 week into the Dutch pharmaceutical landscape they will come up with focussed possibilities for improvements in Rwanda.

Update Juni 2016: Richard Bugingo left the project as he emigrated to the USA. A replacement was found in: Marie Claire Nyinawinkindi, member of the Rwanda Pharmacy Council.

The visit will take place from 11-19 June 2016 according to the underneath mentioned program;

On the 18th June a work lunch with FM board members was held to discuss impressions and first idea’s.

We are interested to learn possible follow up projects. The initiative for this is on the side of Rwanda.

Update 2017: serious steps were made to create a ‘Rwandan Pharmaceutical Society’ in order to join all the pharmaceutical professionals of Rwanda in one professional organization. This proces slowed down unfortunately during 2017. By the end of the year Israel Blimpe took over the initiative from Pierre Kayumba as his attention was needed elsewhere.
